Forest Management
Prescribed Burning
Prescribed burning is utilized for site preparation, fuel load control, and silvicultural practices.
It is one of the least expensive and oldest forms of site preparation. This technique can be used to prepare a site for planting or to prepare the seedbed for natural regeneration purposes as well as used to control understory vegetation and fuel loads.
Management
Forest management begins with a proper management plan written to meet the goals of our clients. Our plans may help keep forested land in present use tax brackets.
Timber Inventory, Appraisal, & Sale
Timber inventory and appraisal is the first step in knowing what management practice to use or what the value of a timber sale may be. During timber inventory and appraisal we will determine what the timber stock on the property is and assign a value to that using current market prices.
Harvest Supervision.
Timber harvests are a vital part of forest management, these harvests need to be managed to ensure that your property is taken care of. We work with landowners after their timber is sold to ensure that the timber harvest is conducted according to Best Management Practices (BMP’s) as well as Forest Practice Guidelines (FPG’s).
