Process of work

A local timber buyer who does the work

A local timber buyer who does the work

Many timber buyers in North Carolina are dealers or brokers, they buy your timber, then hire a separate logging contractor to cut and haul it. Every extra hand adds cost, and that cost comes out somewhere, often from what the landowner receives.

Timberline Forest Products is built differently. We are the buyer and the harvesting company. Our own logging crews and heavy hauling fleet handle the job from stump to mill. Because there is no middleman to pay, there is more margin to keep the economics favorable for you while still running a safe, well-equipped operation.

Who we buy timber from in Johnston County

Farm families with timber stands alongside crop and pasture ground.

Long-time landowners whose family has held the property for generations.

Recent buyers who purchased wooded land as an investment, hunting property, or future homesite.

Landowners planning to sell or develop and need the timber removed before the next step.

Our typical focus is on tracts of 15 acres and up. We occasionally look at smaller tracts when timber quality and access support a profitable harvest for both sides. If you are not sure whether your property qualifies, the fastest way to find out is a quick phone call.

For most timber sales, contracts can be signed and work underway within approximately 30 days of your decision to move forward.

Protecting your land during and after the harvest

Two things matter most to landowners when it comes to logging: getting a fair price and not having their land torn up. We plan every job around both.

Access routes are selected to minimize rutting and soil damage.

Wet areas, streams, and sensitive spots are identified and respected in advance.

You know where landings and decks will be placed before the job starts.

The property is left in a condition consistent with your future plans, whether that means another timber rotation, replanting, farming, or development.

We understand how harvesting decisions affect what you can do with your land for decades afterward.
